ABOUT MEI was born in Australia of Greek heritage, a first generation Greek-Australian and strongly shaped by my Greek cultural heritage as well as my Australian upbringing.
My fiction and non-fiction writing reflect my Greek-Christian heritage as well as my love for poetry, literature, theology and history in general. In the last ten years, I have been working on a novel that traces a young woman’s journey back to the motherland (Greece) and is largely based on my experience. This novel will now become a three-part book series, with the first part--Daughter of Odysseus: Ithaka Calling—now available. |

DAUGHTER OF ODYSSEUS
Ithaka Calling
Who was she? What were the voices stirring within her? Where did she belong?
Christine, exiled to the cold embrace of suburbia, longs to find meaning out of nihilism. Refusing to give into mundanity, she swears she will walk the land of her ancestors—to find her roots, blossom, bear rich fruits, and thrive in her land. But nothing is ever easy. The moment she sets out, Christine is beset by the trials of Odysseus: the demons and monsters, sirens and witches. The battlefield looks bleak, but she does not fight unaided. At every step, the divine essence pushes her onwards—onwards, towards Ithaka! |
